FREE PC Security for Home Users - Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI)

Used by millions of home users around the world.

The Secunia PSI is a FREE security tool designed to detect vulnerable and out-dated programs and plug-ins which expose your PC to attacks. Attacks exploiting vulnerable programs and plug-ins are rarely blocked by traditional anti-virus and are therefore increasingly "popular" among criminals.

The only solution to block these kind of attacks is to apply security updates, commonly referred to as patches. Patches are offered free-of-charge by most software vendors, however, finding all these patches is a tedious and time consuming task. Secunia PSI automates this and alerts you when your programs and plug-ins require updating to stay secure.

    PSI - Consumer - Products

Make sure you click on the GREEN Download Link - Which says DOWNLOAD NOW

I also use this Awesome Free Program. It keeps my computer updated on programs that need patches, etc. Also, will direct me to the sites that have the updated info on them, so all I have to do is click on it and follow the instructions from those sites which will patch my computer for the specific security issues. This program will run all the time on your computer in the lower tray bar, next to your other icons. I leave this program active at all times, so every day it will run and updates on my computer and if anything is wrong which is not showing 100%, then I open up the program to see what program is out of date or needs to be patched. Now, if you prefer to save on Memory, only run it a couple of times per month to see if there are any issues, that need to be corrected. How do I stop this program not to run when I start my computer? Please go to the following link and follow the instructions. Windows - Disabling Startup Programs Just find PSI in the checked box and uncheck it. Then click Apply and Reboot your computer. Once the computer reboots, there will be a alert panel that comes up telling you about it, just put a check mark in the box, telling them not to alert you again about it. If you do not put a check mark in the box, then this alert box will continue to appear every time you start up your computer.

Why spend all of your time trying to find the latest updates for your computer, such as Adobe Flash, Java, etc. Run this program and it will tell you what is outdated and needs to be updated. Besides giving you the link for you to download the update.

This program needs to be run on the I.E Browser ONLY.

I have NO Connection to this program, just trying to help you keep your computer safe. I have been using it for years with no issues.
