I wanted to let you all know about an awesome campaign by Stove Top, Spread the Warmth. It is an initiative focused on paying forward acts of kindness to those around us, in the hopes that they will be inspired to do the same.
As part of their campaign, we would love to hear how you are “Spreading the Warmth” this holiday season. They have given me a pack of 10 full value coupons for Stove Top to giveaway to one lucky person who shares their random act of kindness with us in a comment.
So, what have I done to “spread the warmth”? This is a really small thing but we have a lot of homeless people in our city. We were coming out of a restaurant last week downtown and predictably were asked for money. Instead I was able to give him some hot takeout I had. I know it is small and there is much more I could have done but it was just a little act that I am sure made him a little more comfortable that night.
That is what “Spread the Warmth” is about. I encourage you to go read the Ambassadors blog for more inspiring stories.
Do you want a chance to win those coupons?

We donated toys and books several different toy drives through church and school.
I have followed SpreadtheWarmth for quite some time #STW ! I am @tannawings on Twitter.
I actually try to STW as much as I can.
Through the years we have always kept an eye out for the elderly. In the winter I will shovel for them if their kids cant make it, or forget. Just yesterday, I got a homemeade pie for shoveling but its not about pie, they are truly nice people.
1st entry?
Well, we have elderly neighbors, and we have lived in this neighborhood for 20 years. When we first moved, we were that ‘young couple’ now we are middle aged
2md STW-
I am fairly new to Twitter (just months) but in those short months I have been fortunate- I started entering contests and was able to donate to Toys for Tots (via Salvation Army) I donated a skateboard from ShredSled, a sit on elephant, dolls, a bunch of My Little Pony things, lots of games from EAPlay (who I might add knew I was donating and was overly generous!)and I hope the toys give some child a huge grin in just a few short days. We dont have alot ourselves, but, if I can give a child a smile, it was so worth it!
3rd STW
Oftentimes after giveaways like this,(free coupons) I will find that we have so much in our cupboards compared to those who have so little. My husband plays in pool league, and the guys talk. Last month we found out a lady had her hours cut at work, and she was going to the potluck every Sunday because she was hungry. We packed up 2 huge boxes of groceries for her. It was right before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, I found I had given away every can of green beans, we didnt have green bean casserole, and it made me laugh , but I was happy to help with or without green beans
4th STW
I have always loved animals, and being the coupon fanatic I am, always have extra dog food and cat food on hand. I also do cat rescue. In this economy times are very tough, but I believe animals enrich our lives. Countless times this year learning of people struggling through various hardships, they have had a hard time keeping their animals fed, and food on their tables. Not wanting to hear they had to give up a precious part of their family, my husband and I have dropped animal food and cat litter to people who are in need – mostly without them knowing who did it
5th STW
This is another Twitter related one. As you notice, I like blog contests! Well, one of my very first ‘wins’ was from a wonderful blogger doing a natural soap giveaway. I have followed her ever since, and have developed a liking for her. She herself had never entered any twitter contests until recently. It seems she wanted a certain skin care product quite badly and was entering but never winning. The contest (one option) is a jingle. On a whim, I started doing the jingles. The company contacted me and offered one to me and a friend. I immediately thought of the blogger. I had no clue what the product was worth, and had no clue they would do that, but am super happy my silly tweeting made the blogger happy. The other? Well, its gonna be a gift to another friend!
To spread the warmth I am making breakfast dinner on Christmas day for all of those that are not with their families so that they will not be alone on the holiday and we will all get together and have a wonderful time.
I am cleaning out toys and clothes for friends of ours that lost their jobs and have children younger than ours.

I spread the warmth by volunteering on christmas.
I delivered hot meals to homebound people last week.
I write personal messages to the people I love for the holiday.
I try to be gracious and patient while Christmas shopping to counteract all the stress of people around me.
We spread the warmth this year by baking all our friends and neighbors cookies and breads. They loved it and I really enjoyed making them.
